For years Sara Gilbert sidestepped direct questions about her sexuality. But at a Television Critics Association press conferences Wednesday in Los Angeles, the Roseanne actress quietly admitted that she was a lesbian.
Gilbert was on hand to promote her new chat-fest, The Talk, that she is set to co-host with fellow moms, Julie Chen, Leah Remini, Holly Robinson Peete, Sharon Osbourne, and Marissa Jaret Winokur, and addressed her sexuality when asked if she thought it was going to be comfortable being "out."
“This is a whole new world for me,” the 35-year-old admitted. “I’m not an expert on this, or I don’t analyze these things. I’m just sort of living my life. I plan to put my heart and soul into this show, and I plan to continue acting, and I don’t think it will be a problem.”
